A true high-altitude mountain bike epic: Alta Valtellina Bike Marathon is the top event for mountain bike lovers in northern Italy, set entirely inside the extraordinary Stelvio National Park. This is not a city criterium, it is a journey through breathtaking Alpine landscapes, technical trails, fir forests, alpine pastures, historic military roads and glacial lakes. Expect 90 percent dirt roads with a firm surface, combined with specially groomed and designed single track sections built for flow and fun, all while riding between 1800 and 2350 meters of altitude.

Three routes for every level of ambition: The format is designed to satisfy both professionals and amateurs. The Marathon route covers 100 km with 3260 meters of elevation gain, a pure adrenaline challenge for daredevils that goes past the towers of Val Fraele and the Cancano lakes, up to Trela Pass and Alpisella Pass. The Endurance route covers 76 km with 2400 meters of elevation gain, a more accessible but still demanding alternative that keeps the best of the high mountain sections. The Classic route covers 44 km with 1485 meters of elevation gain, ideal for first-timers, young riders and those who want a shorter but still authentic Alpine experience. All three start and finish in Rasin, Valdidentro, where a lively Bike Village awaits.

A four-day celebration of MTB culture: The event is structured as four days fully dedicated to MTB and nature enthusiasts. The Bike Village in Rasin is the social hub, featuring race pack pickup, expo area with latest news in mountain biking, sponsor stalls, bike wash, showers, mechanical assistance and festive atmosphere. Side activities include Marathon Kids, a mini granfondo dedicated to little ones, events for families, local food and wine stands with typical Valtellina products, and entertainment for spectators.
