Paratissima 2027 is the contemporary evolution of Italy’s most dynamic fair dedicated to emerging art, independent creativity, and cutting-edge visual culture. Hosted in Turin, the event transforms a historic architectural complex into a living laboratory where more than 300 international artists, designers, curators, and galleries converge to present new work, new formats, and new dialogues. The project is known for its hybrid identity, functioning simultaneously as an art fair, a festival, a talent incubator, and a cultural platform that connects young artists with collectors, institutions, and the public.
Visitors can expect an immersive, non-linear journey through painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video art, sound art, performance, and digital and NFT-based practices. Unlike traditional white-cube fairs, Paratissima builds curated exhibition environments, special projects, and thematic islands that encourage direct interaction between the artwork and its architectural container. The atmosphere is intentionally accessible and vibrant, designed to welcome seasoned collectors as well as first-time visitors, students, families, and curious citizens.
The 2027 edition will continue its mission to support unrepresented and emerging artists while expanding its international network of academies, independent spaces, and cultural partners. Expect a dense program of live performances, late-night openings, music selections, and participatory formats that turn the exhibition into a social and cultural experience rather than a simple market event. Every corner is curated to stimulate discovery, with works available for direct acquisition through the official Paratissima Art Gallery platform.

Paratissima takes place in the heart of Turin in one of the city’s most iconic heritage complexes. After editions hosted at Torino Esposizioni, Ex Caserma La Marmora, and Officine Snos, the fair has been anchored since 2019 at the Cavallerizza Reale complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that forms part of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy. The venue is now known as ARTiglieria – Con-temporary Art Center, a large-scale cultural incubator that Paratissima manages as a permanent hub for artistic production and exhibition.
The complex offers over 15,000 square meters of exhibition surface across historic courtyards, former stables, manège halls, and restored military architecture. Its raw, stratified character provides an ideal backdrop for contemporary experimentation. The layout allows for large-scale installations, dark rooms for video, intimate spaces for photography, and open areas for performance and public programs. The site is fully integrated into Turin’s city center, within walking distance of Piazza Castello, the Royal Museums, and the Po river cultural district, making it a central node of Turin’s Contemporary Art Week.
The programme for Paratissima 2027 is structured around a central curatorial theme that will be announced in early 2027, following the model of previous editions such as Superstition, VENTI, and Eye Contact. Around this theme, the artistic direction develops a multi-layered exhibition system that combines curated shows with open calls for artists from all over the world.
The core programme includes more than ten main exhibitions curated by the Paratissima curatorial board and invited guest curators. Each exhibition explores a different facet of contemporary aesthetics, from post-photography and expanded painting to ecological art and AI-generated imagery. Alongside these, over twenty special projects are produced in collaboration with cultural institutions, art academies, foundations, and corporate partners. These projects include site-specific installations, immersive environments, and collaborative works that bridge art with design, fashion, sound, and social innovation.
The programme is completed by the G@P – Galleries at Paratissima section, a curated platform for independent galleries and project spaces, and by the Paratissima Factory residency outcomes, presenting artists who have developed new work during the residency period in Turin. Every day features live performances, artist talks, and interventions that activate the exhibition spaces and transform the visitor experience.
Paratissima 2027 will showcase over 350 artists selected through an international open call, curatorial invitations, and prize selections. The artist roster focuses on emerging and mid-career talents from Italy and abroad, with a strong presence of artists under 35, collectives, and interdisciplinary practitioners. Selection is based on artistic quality, originality of research, and coherence with the curatorial vision, not on commercial representation.
Featured disciplines include visual artists working in painting and expanded painting, contemporary sculpture and object design, fine art photography, video and film, sound and multimedia, urban art, illustration, and new media. Designers are integrated through dedicated sections that explore collectible design, self-production, sustainable materials, and the intersection between functional object and artwork. Many of the selected artists have exhibited in previous Paratissima Talents events, and winners of awards such as the Paratissima Prize, Production Prize, and Audience Prize return with new projects.
All artists are presented with complete biographical profiles, statements, and works available on the Art Gallery digital platform, allowing collectors to follow their development before, during, and after the fair.
The exhibitor community at Paratissima is divided into two main categories. The first is the independent artists section, where artists exhibit directly without gallery mediation, fostering a direct relationship with the public and collectors. The second is G@P – Galleries at Paratissima, the project dedicated to contemporary art galleries, artist-run spaces, and non-profit organizations that present curated booths and solo projects.
Galleries are selected for their research-driven programmes and their commitment to emerging art. In previous editions, participating galleries came from across Italy and from countries including France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, UK, and Eastern Europe. Exhibitors include contemporary galleries, photography galleries, academies and fine arts universities presenting their best graduates, and international residency networks.
Each exhibitor is allocated a dedicated exhibition space designed in collaboration with the exhibition management to ensure visual coherence and curatorial continuity throughout the complex. All sales are managed transparently through Paratissima channels, ensuring support for artists and exhibitors.
The architectural layout of the Cavallerizza Reale allows Paratissima to organize its content into distinct yet interconnected sections.
Main Exhibitions: Ten curated exhibitions distributed across the first and second floors, each with its own curatorial text and scenography.
Special Projects & Immersive Rooms: Large-scale installations and site-specific works located in the former stables and central courtyard.

Paratissima is not only an exhibition but also a discursive platform. The public programme includes daily talks, panel discussions, and lectures with curators, artists, critics, collectors, and cultural entrepreneurs. Topics address current issues in contemporary art such as sustainability, independent curating, art and technology, collecting emerging art, and new models for cultural production.
Workshops are held for different audiences. For adults, there are practical workshops on curation, art writing, photography, and portfolio review sessions with professionals. For children and families, Paratissima Kids offers creative laboratories designed to introduce young audiences to contemporary art through play and making.

The main curated exhibitions, each hosting 30 to 40 artists, offer a coherent narrative and high curatorial quality. The G@P Galleries section is essential for discovering new gallery programmes and acquiring works from emerging galleries at accessible price points. The immersive special projects, often produced with academy partners, are highlights for large-scale and interactive installations.
The Photography Focus and Video Rooms present cutting-edge research in lens-based media, while the Digital Lab showcases experimental works with AI, VR, and sound. Finally, the Factory Residency presentation offers a glimpse into the future of contemporary production in Turin, with works developed on site during the months preceding the fair.
Paratissima 2024 celebrated its 20th anniversary, known as Paratissima VENTI, from 31 October to 3 November 2024, hosting 350 artists across 10 curated exhibitions and over 20 special projects. The edition was praised for its strong exhibition design, quality of artworks, and organization, with venue appreciation scoring 3.72 out of 5 in audience surveys. The programme included performances, talks, and workshops for children, plus the Art Week Opening Party with installations and music selections.
In 2023, the 19th edition reopened all spaces of the Cavallerizza with over 400 artists divided into 10 exhibitions plus a new section on the third floor, confirming the fair’s scale and diversity. Paratissima Talents, the spin-off exhibition presenting the most talented and awarded artists from the previous year, was held at the Ex-Scuderie of the Cavallerizza and attracted wide public attention.
Recent years also saw collaborations with Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2024 for an international call for artists reflecting on environmental themes, and the consolidation of ARTiglieria as a year-round incubator for cultural projects. The event remains a key pillar of Turin’s Contemporary Art Week alongside Artissima, Flashback Habitat, and The Others Art Fair.

Most visitors spend between three and five hours to see all main exhibitions, galleries, and special projects comfortably. If you plan to attend talks, performances, and late openings, consider a full day or a two-day return.
