Stralivigno is the traditional half-marathon of the Piccolo Tibet and has become a regular event for trail running lovers since it was born in 2008 with just over a few hundred athletes. Today it attracts hundreds of runners and fans thanks to breathtaking scenery of local nature and the unique high altitude environment of Livigno at 1816 meters above sea level. The town is all set to host this summer classic for enthusiasts, professional athletes and amateurs alike.
You can expect a mountain running half-marathon of 21 km winding through paths, white roads and asphalted roads in an exciting and suggestive route. The trail has a slight but constant difference in height of around 450 meters overall, with about 200 meters of positive height difference, starting from 1816 meters of Livigno and reaching maximum altitude around 2000 to 2030 meters. The route alternates stretches of dirt road and asphalt, with the steepest points reached after a first part characterized by slight constant climb, then plunging totally into nature after leaving the cycle path after first half before swooping back toward finish arch.
The event is organized in association with ASD Marathon Club Alta Quota and the Aquagranda Active You centre, which serves as headquarters and symbolic place of Livigno that for some years has hosted athletes from all over world for specific preparations. The public cheers participants before they head off to tackle mountain pathways that characterize Little Tibet trail race.
