A fast, sea-front half marathon in the heart of Liguria’s capital: Genoa Half Marathon, known as La Mezza di Genova, is organized as a competitive road race on a flat and scenic course along the ancient port, the historic center and the seafront of Genoa. The event has become one of the most attended half marathons in northwest Italy thanks to the combination of a FIDAL measured course, mild spring climate and a city that blends maritime history with modern running culture.
More than a race, a journey through the Old Town and the Porto Antico: The route develops between the Aquarium, the Porto Antico, the Lanterna area, Corso Italia and the eastern waterfront, offering views of the Ligurian Sea on one side and the historic palazzi on the other. While shorter distances run through the city center, the half marathon extends along the eastern promenade for a fast out-and-back section that is ideal for personal bests.
Distances for every level: The event traditionally offers competitive Half Marathon 21.097 km, plus non-competitive 10 km, 5 km, Family Run and Kids Run. Course surface is 100 percent asphalt, tagged seaside, city run, fast, flat, family friendly, with 2000 to 5000 participants. Much more than a race, it is a city festival with music points, cheering zones and a rich final buffet in the Porto Antico.
