Noir in Festival 2026 – Milan, Italy is the leading international film and literature festival devoted to the noir genre in all its forms, from crime story and thriller to horror, fantasy, spy story and whodunit. Now in its 35th edition and entering its 36th year of history, the festival has ranged from the coast at Viareggio to the snows of Courmayeur and since 2016 has found its home in the sprawling urban chiaroscuros of Milan, where it has become a ritual celebrated year after year.

Directed by Giorgio Gosetti and Marina Fabbri, Noir in Festival is known for its interdisciplinary calling that interweaves film and literature, tradition and current events, comics and new media to create a single, unique genre experience. Visitors can expect six days of premieres, retrospectives, masterclasses, talks, literary meetings and exhibitions spread across five memorable venues in Milan.

The festival is both a public celebration and an industry meeting point. It presents previews in and out of competition, hosts the prestigious Raymond Chandler Award for lifetime achievement and the Giorgio Scerbanenco Award for best Italian noir novel, and brings together authors, directors, screenwriters, producers and readers. The atmosphere combines the excitement of international premieres with intimate literary conversations in bookshops and historic houses, making Milan reveal its secret soul during early winter.
