UniMusic Festival 2026 is the seventh edition of the Festival della Musica e della Cultura organized by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti in partnership with the University of Naples Federico II. The 2026 programme brings together symphonic music, classical repertoire, dance, cinema-inspired music, contemporary crossover, educational encounters and musical activities inside historic university spaces and modern campuses across Naples.

The festival runs throughout September with 12 main appointments. Six headline concerts take place at the Cortile delle Statue, while the wider programme extends to Federico II’s scientific museums and university campuses in San Giovanni a Teduccio and Scampia.

The programme includes Beethoven, Verdi, Vivaldi, Morricone, Gershwin, Mozart and Čajkovskij, alongside the Italian pop group Avion Travel and activities designed to bring music into museums and university spaces.

UniMusic Festival 2026 takes place from September 5 to September 30, 2026, in Naples, Italy. The opening weekend features two concerts at the Cortile delle Statue, followed by concerts, museum events and campus programmes throughout the month.

Key programme dates include:

The principal concert times are generally 18:30 or 19:30, while the museum and campus events have their own daytime schedules.

The principal festival venue is the Cortile delle Statue of the University of Naples Federico II, located at Via Paladino 39, Naples. The historic courtyard is in the university district around Mezzocannone and forms the central concert setting for the six main performances.

Additional festival locations include:

The combination of historic university courtyards, museums and modern campuses is a defining feature of the 2026 edition.

The confirmed 2026 programme includes the following artists, orchestras and creative contributors:

The programme also features musicians and participants connected with the Federico II museums and the Campus in musica encounters.

The principal concert programme is led by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti and its youth ensembles. The opening concert places approximately 80 young musicians of the Orchestra Scarlatti Junior on stage under Gaetano Russo, with repertoire including Beethoven, Verdi and von Suppé.

Avion Travel provides one of the festival’s most distinctive crossover appearances. Their September 30 performance, Sentimento, combines the group with the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti under Angelo Valori in a programme connecting classical orchestral music with Italian songwriter-pop traditions.

Other featured performers include pianist Giuseppe Gullotta, violinist Riccardo Zamuner and the young musicians of the Orchestra Scarlatti Young.

UniMusic is not structured around conventional festival stages. Instead, performances take place in several university and cultural environments.

This multi-location approach allows the festival to connect Naples’ historic academic centre with university campuses in other parts of the city.

Tickets for the principal concerts can be purchased online through Azzurro Service or at the venue box office from one hour before the performance.

Published event information reports ticket costs ranging from free admission for selected activities to approximately $21.24 for the highest reported individual admission, depending on the programme.

The principal ticket options can therefore include:

The six-concert subscription is promoted by the official festival, although a complete current subscription price was not clearly published in the accessible official listing.

No separate VIP ticket, backstage pass or premium hospitality package is listed in the official 2026 festival information.

The main premium-style option is the subscription covering the six principal Cortile delle Statue concerts. This is designed for visitors who want to attend the central concert series rather than purchasing individual performances separately.

UniMusic takes place across university buildings, museums and performance spaces, so visitors should follow the admission instructions attached to each individual event.

Validité du ticket : Bring the valid ticket or booking confirmation for paid performances.

Arrival: For ticketed concerts, arriving before the advertised start time is recommended, particularly for the seated performances at the Cortile delle Statue.

Box office: The official programme states that tickets can be purchased at the venue box office from one hour before the concert.

Règles du lieu : Museum and university locations may have different visitor requirements from the main concert venue.

Changements de programme : Artists, schedules or access arrangements can be subject to organizational changes, so visitors should check the official UniMusic and ticketing pages before attending.

UniMusic is spread across several parts of Naples, so the best route depends on the specific event.

For the main Cortile delle Statue concerts, the address is Via Paladino 39 in the historic university district. The venue is close to the Federico II university complex around Mezzocannone and the historic centre.

Visitors arriving in Naples by train can travel from Napoli Centrale toward the historic centre using local public transport or continue by taxi to the university district.

For events at San Giovanni a Teduccio and Scampia, allow additional travel time because these venues are outside the central historic university area.

Public transport is generally the most practical option for the central UniMusic programme because the Cortile delle Statue is situated in Naples’ historic university district, where streets and parking spaces can be limited.

For the central concerts, visitors can use Naples’ metro, buses and walking routes to reach the Mezzocannone university area, then continue on foot toward Via Paladino.

For San Giovanni a Teduccio and Scampia events, check the current local transit timetable before travelling because services and operating schedules can change.

Dedicated festival parking is not advertised by UniMusic. Visitors travelling by car should therefore allow extra time to find public parking outside the immediate historic university area.

For the Cortile delle Statue programme, the most convenient accommodation areas are around Naples Historic Centre, Centro Storico, Mezzocannone, Piazza Dante, Toledo and the wider central city.

Staying in the historic centre is particularly useful for visitors attending several main concerts because many cultural attractions, restaurants and transport connections are within walking distance.

Visitors attending the San Giovanni a Teduccio or Scampia programmes can still stay centrally, but should allow more travel time on those days.

UniMusic is primarily a music and culture festival rather than a food festival, and the official programme does not advertise a dedicated festival food village.

Visitors attending concerts at the Cortile delle Statue can use the restaurants, cafés, bakeries and bars throughout the surrounding historic centre before or after performances.

Naples is particularly well known for pizza and traditional Campanian cuisine, making the Centro Storico a convenient area for combining a UniMusic concert with an evening meal.

Because the festival uses university and museum venues, visitors should not assume that food and drinks will be sold inside every performance location.

The festival takes place in several different university and museum buildings, so accessibility can vary by venue.

The Cortile delle Statue and the individual university museums have different architectural layouts and access arrangements. Visitors with specific mobility requirements should contact the festival organizers before attending to confirm the appropriate entrance and facilities for their chosen event.

The official festival contact is +39 081 2535984, with information available through info@unimusic.it.

For orchestral music: September 5 and September 27 offer major symphonic programmes featuring the Orchestra Scarlatti ensembles and established classical repertoire.

For music and dance: September 6 combines Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with original choreography by Emma Cianchi and Nyko Piscopo.

For film-music enthusiasts: September 11’s Ennio programme focuses on the music of Ennio Morricone and combines music with cinema and storytelling.

For American classical repertoire: September 18’s Gershwin programme features pianist Giuseppe Gullotta and the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti.

Pour la musique crossover : September 30 brings Avion Travel together with the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti for Sentimento, combining orchestral and Italian pop traditions.

Visitors interested in the broader cultural side of the festival should also consider the museum and campus programmes.

The 2026 edition is the seventh edition of UniMusic and continues the relationship between the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti and the University of Naples Federico II. The festival has developed around the idea of placing music inside university courtyards, museums and academic spaces rather than limiting performances to conventional concert halls.

Earlier UniMusic programmes have included performances by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti in the Cortile delle Statue, concerts connected with the university’s museums and programmes combining classical repertoire with jazz, popular music and other styles. Historical festival listings show ticketed concerts alongside free-entry activities and museum-related experiences.

The festival’s continuing focus on youth orchestras is also reflected in the 2026 opening weekend, where the Orchestra Scarlatti Junior and Orchestra Scarlatti Young are central to the programme.

Tickets for UniMusic 2026 are available through the official ticketing partner Azzurro Service, while the festival’s official website provides the programme, venue information and links to individual performances.

Temps de set
