Preview: November 29, 2026
Main festival: December 11, 2026 – December 13, 2026
The preview takes place at Teatro alla Scala with a special cineconcert of Federico Fellini’s 8½, while the main three-day programme is hosted at Triennale Milano.
The main festival venue is Triennale Milano, located in the Palazzo dell’Arte beside Parco Sempione.
Lieu : Triennale Milano
Adresse : Viale Emilio Alemagna 6, 20121 Milan, Italy
The programme uses several spaces within Triennale, including Teatro, Voce and Cuore. This allows the festival to move between large live performances, intimate listening sessions, talks, workshops and other activities.
The preview is held separately at Teatro alla Scala, one of Milan’s most important historic performance venues. The 8½ cineconcert features the full film accompanied by Nino Rota’s original soundtrack performed live by the Filarmonica della Scala under Timothy Brock.
The confirmed 2026 programme includes a combination of live music, soundtrack presentations, cinema, talks and educational sessions.
Confirmed guests and contributors include:
Additional guests may be added to the programme as the festival approaches.
Jeff Mills is one of the principal live music figures of the 2026 edition, appearing with Jean-Phi Dary and Kader Hamza in Tomorrow Comes The Harvest. The project is built around improvisation, rhythm and electronic music, continuing the concept originally associated with Tony Allen and Jeff Mills.
Christophe Chassol presents Funny How?, a live project presented in Italian premiere. The festival also features Hania Rani in a masterclass connected with the soundtrack of Sentimental Value.
Other featured figures include filmmaker Romain Gavras, music supervisor Randall Poster, soundtrack composer Pino Donaggio, journalist Stefano Nazzi, musician and composer Enrico Gabrielli, singer-songwriter Joan Thiele and soundtrack specialist Stéphane Lerouge.
SLAM Festival uses different spaces inside Triennale Milano rather than operating as a conventional multi-stage outdoor music festival.
Triennale – Teatro
The main theatre space hosts larger live performances, screenings and combined cinema-and-music events.

This area is used for listening sessions, talks, masterclasses and discussions focused on soundtrack culture and music supervision.

Ticketing varies according to the individual event. Some programme items require tickets, while other activities are released through registration or have availability announced later.
The official programme currently identifies several sessions as “Tickets” and others as “Tickets available in autumn” or registration-based events.
For the preview cineconcert at Teatro alla Scala, tickets are sold through the Filarmonica della Scala ticketing system and authorised Vivaticket channels.
For reference, the Filarmonica della Scala’s 2026 season ticket range runs from approximately $12 to $140 before presale charges. This is previous-edition reference pricing and is not a confirmed SLAM Festival price list.
SLAM Festival is primarily structured around individual cultural and performance events rather than a traditional VIP festival package system.
The official 2026 programme does not currently advertise a festival-wide VIP pass or dedicated premium hospitality package. Visitors instead choose individual concerts, screenings, listening sessions, workshops, talks and masterclasses according to the published programme.
The Teatro alla Scala preview operates under its own seating and ticketing arrangements. Any premium seating or special ticket categories are determined through the relevant venue and ticketing system.
Visitors should follow the rules of both SLAM Festival and the venue hosting each individual programme item.
Parmi les considérations importantes figurent :
For the Teatro alla Scala preview, visitors should also follow the theatre’s specific entry and security procedures.
Triennale Milano is located at Viale Emilio Alemagna 6 beside Parco Sempione in central Milan.
By metro: Take Milan Metro Lines 1 or 2 to Cadorna – Triennale.
Par train : Milano Cadorna is the closest railway station.
En bus : ATM bus line 85 stops at Triennale, approximately 50 metres from the entrance.
En taxi : Taxis can reach Triennale directly from central Milan.
The Teatro alla Scala preview is located in central Milan at Teatro alla Scala and is also well connected to the city’s public transport network.
Public transport is particularly convenient for the main festival venue because Triennale is close to Cadorna railway station and the Cadorna – Triennale metro stop.
Visitors can use Metro Lines 1 and 2, regional trains through Milano Cadorna and local buses.
Parking around central Milan is more limited than at an out-of-town festival venue. Triennale is within Milan’s Area C restricted traffic zone, where vehicle access may involve additional restrictions or charges depending on the vehicle and time.
For visitors travelling by car, using a peripheral car park and continuing by metro or train can be practical, particularly during busy festival periods.
Staying in central Milan provides convenient access to Triennale and also makes it easier to attend evening concerts and late festival activities.
Cadorna: One of the most convenient areas because of its railway and metro connections and proximity to Triennale.
Brera : A central district with hotels, restaurants, cafés and easy access to cultural attractions.
Milan city centre: Areas around Duomo, Cordusio and Cairoli provide extensive accommodation and sightseeing options.
Porta Garibaldi: Useful for visitors arriving by train and wanting quick connections across Milan.
Navigli : A popular evening district with restaurants, bars and nightlife, although it is farther from Triennale than Cadorna or Brera.
Visitors can find food and drink facilities within and around Triennale Milano.
Cucina Triennale operates at the venue and offers food and beverage services, while the surrounding Parco Sempione and central Milan provide numerous restaurants, cafés and bars.
For a full festival day, visitors can combine daytime workshops and listening sessions with a meal before the evening live performances.
Because SLAM events run from the morning into the evening, planning a meal break between programme blocks can be useful when attending several events on the same day.
Triennale Milano states that its spaces are designed to be accessible and provides an accessibility guide covering entrances, internal routes, services and concessions for visitors with disabilities.
The building is described by Triennale as free of architectural barriers, with facilities and support for visitors with disabilities and specific needs. The theatre can also provide accessibility measures such as audio description, tactile visits and Italian and English surtitles for selected performances.
Visitors requiring specific assistance can contact Triennale’s accessibility service before attending.
Preview: The Teatro alla Scala preview is particularly relevant for visitors interested in classic Italian cinema and live orchestral soundtrack performance, with 8½ presented alongside Nino Rota’s music performed live by the Filarmonica della Scala under Timothy Brock.
Vendredi : A strong choice for visitors interested in soundtrack restoration, music archives, masterclasses and electronic live music, culminating in Tomorrow Comes The Harvest.
Saturday: Offers a varied combination of live music, soundtrack archives, music supervision, film composition and the Pino Donaggio programme.
Sunday: Particularly focused on cinema, contemporary visual culture, soundtrack history and the relationship between storytelling and live music.
Visitors interested in the broadest range of activities can plan around the full three-day programme because the festival moves between several disciplines rather than concentrating on one music genre.
SLAM Festival was founded in 2025 through the collaboration between CAM Sugar and Triennale Milano. The first edition established the festival as a meeting point between soundtrack heritage, cinema, music and contemporary creative practices.
The second edition expands the concept with international artists and industry figures, combining live concerts with archive research, film screenings, listening experiences, talks and educational events.
The festival’s 2026 programme also continues its interest in the CAM Sugar archive, including previously unreleased material and historic soundtrack recordings. The organisers specifically highlight archival material connected with figures such as Ennio Morricone and Piero Umiliani.
Official ticket information is available through the individual SLAM Festival programme pages and the authorised ticketing services linked by the organisers.
For the main festival, selected programme items are already marked as ticketed, while other sessions are listed for registration or future ticket release.
For the Teatro alla Scala preview, the 8½ cineconcert is sold through the Filarmonica della Scala ticketing system and Vivaticket.
