Dancity Festival 2027 is expected to return to Umbria with its established focus on electronic music, experimental sound, contemporary culture and multimedia arts. The festival has been organised in Umbria since 2006 and combines international artists, emerging talent, original productions, audiovisual projects and cultural encounters.
The festival is associated with Foligno and the wider Umbrian area, although its locations can change between editions. Recent editions have moved between historic urban venues and countryside settings, creating a different environment for each programme.
Dancity’s artistic identity is built around experimentation and the meeting point between innovation and tradition. Alongside DJ sets and live electronic performances, recent programmes have included multimedia installations, cultural meetings, audiovisual projects and collaborations with independent artistic collectives.

Période du festival 2027 : Juin 2027 (Dates à déterminer)
Les dates exactes de 2027 n’ont pas encore été annoncées.
The most recent summer edition was presented as a multi-day festival, while the 2026 anniversary edition also followed a multi-day format in Foligno. Dancity has additionally developed Winter Festival and Dancity Nights programmes at other times of the year.
Visitors should check the official festival programme when the 2027 announcement is released for the confirmed opening times, individual performances and venue information.
Dancity does not use one permanent festival ground. The festival moves between carefully selected cultural, industrial, rural and historic locations in Umbria.
For the 2026 anniversary edition, the principal locations in Foligno included:
The festival has also previously used Cantina Raìna in Montefalco, where the summer edition combined electronic music with vineyards, countryside, installations and outdoor experiences.
Previous Dancity editions have also used venues such as Hangar Club, Spazio Astra and Teatro San Carlo in Foligno.
Because the festival changes its locations according to the edition, the definitive 2027 site should be confirmed once the official programme is published.
La programmation de 2027 n’a pas encore été annoncée.
The latest published Dancity anniversary programme included a substantial international electronic-music lineup, with artists and projects including:
The official programme also divided performances between the Auditorium Stage, Chiostro Palazzo Candiotti and Abside, among other spaces.
The Orb
The Orb’s “Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld” A/V live presentation was announced as an Italian premiere for the latest anniversary edition. The project connects ambient house, dub, psychedelic electronics and audiovisual performance and revisits an influential album from the early 1990s.
Actress
Actress was included in the anniversary programme, representing Dancity’s continuing interest in experimental electronic music and contemporary club culture.
Blawan
Blawan’s programme appearance brought a strongly rhythmic and experimental techno performance to the festival. His work combines distorted rhythms, synthesizers and detailed percussion, fitting the festival’s emphasis on exploratory electronic sound.
I-F
I-F is a long-standing figure in European underground electronic music and was scheduled for a DJ set at Chiostro Palazzo Candiotti. His musical background spans electro, Italo, acid, house, disco and techno.
The Bug featuring Magugu
The Bug’s “MACHINE” project featuring Magugu was presented as an Italian premiere, combining bass music, dub, grime, industrial influences and MC performance.
Noémi Büchi
Swiss-French composer and sound artist Noémi Büchi brought an experimental electronic and electroacoustic performance combining electronic textures, rhythmic structures and orchestral influences.
Dancity’s stage structure varies from one edition to another.
Auditorium Stage
The Auditorium Stage has hosted live electronic projects and audiovisual performances. The latest programme included Ange Halliwell, Noémi Büchi and The Orb among the performers scheduled in this space.
Chiostro Palazzo Candiotti
The historic cloister provides a different environment for DJ performances and electronic sets. I-F was scheduled here during the latest anniversary programme.
Abside
The Abside space at Auditorium San Domenico has been used for later-night electronic performances, including Blawan and Vera Grace.
Outdoor festival locations
Previous summer editions have used countryside settings such as Cantina Raìna, allowing electronic performances, installations and cultural activities to take place among the Umbrian landscape.
The 2027 stage-by-stage schedule has not yet been released.
Recent Dancity programmes demonstrate a multi-stage structure in which different spaces host separate performances and artistic projects.
The latest anniversary programme included:
The previous summer format also included two stages during selected programme periods, with one stage focused on Latin American electronic sounds and another dedicated to Dancity Invites collaborations.
Les horaires exacts des sets de 2027 n’ont pas été annoncés.
The latest published programme demonstrates that performances can begin during the early evening and continue into the night. For example, the anniversary programme scheduled Noémi Büchi in the early evening, Ange Halliwell later in the evening, The Orb in the later evening and I-F around midnight.
Later-night performances can continue into the early morning, with Blawan and Vera Grace among the artists scheduled in overnight slots during the latest edition.
The final 2027 running order should be checked before attending because performance times depend on the confirmed venue configuration.
La structure des tickets pour 2027 n’a pas encore été annoncée.
Dancity has previously used several ticket formats depending on the edition:
For reference, the festival’s published 2023 programme offered a three-day Full Pass at approximately $69, individual Daily Passes from approximately $31, and a two-day Weekend Pass at approximately $52 after conversion from the published previous-edition prices.
The 2025 festival also offered accommodation packages combining camping with festival admission. A previous one-day camping package was published at approximately $57 per person and included one night of camping, one festival-day ticket, access to the campsite swimming pool and festival shuttle service.
These are previous-edition reference prices, not confirmed 2027 prices.
Dancity does not consistently operate a conventional VIP system with a separate festival-wide VIP area.
Instead, premium options have included special ticket categories, accommodation packages and dedicated festival experiences.
Previous editions have offered:
The 2025 solidarity ticket was approximately $115 after conversion and included a three-day Full Pass plus a festival T-shirt.
Accommodation packages can also provide a more convenient festival experience by combining admission with camping or nearby lodging and transport.
Visitors should follow the official ticket terms and the rules established for each festival venue.
Parmi les considérations importantes figurent :
Because Dancity uses different cultural and outdoor venues, individual site rules can vary between editions and locations.
Foligno is centrally located in Umbria and is accessible from several major Italian cities.
Par train
Foligno railway station provides connections with Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Rome and other destinations in central Italy. The station is useful for visitors staying in the city centre.
En voiture
Driving provides flexibility for visitors staying outside Foligno or attending events at countryside venues. The exact parking arrangements depend on the year’s festival location.
Par avion
Perugia San Francesco d’Assisi Airport is the closest airport serving the wider area. Rome and other Italian airports provide additional international connections.
From the city centre
For editions held at central Foligno venues, many locations can be reached on foot. For countryside editions, dedicated festival shuttles have previously been provided.
Dancity has previously arranged dedicated shuttle services when the festival site was outside the city centre.
During the 2025 summer edition at Cantina Raìna, a free shuttle operated between Foligno and Montefalco and the festival venue, with departures from Hotel Poledrini in Foligno and a parking area on Viale della Vittoria in Montefalco. The organisers stated that services ran approximately every 20–30 minutes during festival days.
Previous editions have also offered station transfers on request for visitors arriving by train.
For 2027, visitors should wait for the official transport announcement before relying on a specific shuttle route or parking facility.
Foligno historic centre
The most convenient area for festival editions based around central venues such as Auditorium San Domenico and Palazzo Candiotti. It also provides restaurants, cafés and shops within walking distance.
Foligno railway station area
Useful for visitors travelling by train and attending several festival events.
Montefalco
A practical option when Dancity uses countryside venues in the surrounding wine-producing area. The 2025 edition was held at Cantina Raìna in Montefalco.
Bevagna
Previous camping accommodation was organised at Centro Turistico Pian di Boccio in Bevagna, with festival transfers included in the package.
Pérouse
Perugia provides a larger range of accommodation and can work for visitors combining Dancity with other Umbrian sightseeing.
Food is generally integrated into the wider Dancity experience rather than being the primary focus of the festival.
Previous summer editions have included food areas offering dishes prepared with local products, while countryside editions have connected the music programme with Umbrian wine and agricultural landscapes. The 2025 programme at Cantina Raìna specifically emphasised natural wine tastings and experiences connected with the local environment.
Visitors can expect opportunities to find:
Previous Dancity events have also featured dedicated festival food areas, including arrosticini, burgers and vegetarian choices made with local products.
Accessibility arrangements depend on the specific festival venue.
Modern cultural venues such as auditoriums and clubs generally provide more predictable access arrangements, while historic buildings, cloisters and countryside locations can include steps, uneven surfaces or outdoor terrain.
Visitors with specific accessibility requirements should contact the festival before purchasing tickets so that the organisers can provide information about the relevant venue, accessible routes, seating and transport.
The festival’s changing location means accessibility should be assessed for the individual edition rather than assumed to be identical every year.
The best day depends on the artists, stage programme and format announced for the 2027 edition.
For experimental electronic music
Choose the programme featuring live audiovisual and electroacoustic projects.
For techno and club music
Look for nights featuring the festival’s DJ-focused stages and late-night performances.
For live electronic performances
Choose sessions featuring producers and composers performing their own audiovisual or electronic projects.
For cultural activities
Allow additional time for installations, talks, workshops and Dancity’s artistic collaborations.
Pour l’expérience complète
A full festival pass allows visitors to experience different stages, artists and cultural projects without limiting the trip to one programme day.
The latest published Dancity anniversary programme featured a broad selection of experimental and electronic music.
The Orb presented an Italian-premiere A/V performance of “Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld,” while The Bug presented “MACHINE” featuring Magugu as another Italian premiere.
Other performances included Ange Halliwell, Noémi Büchi and Etienne Jaumet at the Auditorium Stage, while I-F performed at Chiostro Palazzo Candiotti and Blawan and Vera Grace appeared at Abside.

The festival takes place across various historic palazzos, indoor auditoriums, and open-air public squares located throughout the medieval city of Foligno in central Italy. Organizers intentionally utilize diverse architectural backdrops to pair cutting-edge electronic music production with centuries-old urban heritage sites.
The lineup features a diverse spectrum of forward-thinking electronic music, ranging from ambient soundscapes and IDM to complex techno and abstract club rhythms. Curators prioritize underground innovators, live hardware performers, and boundary-pushing DJs who challenge conventional commercial listening expectations.
Visitors can explore extensive new media digital art exhibitions, attend hardware workshops, and participate in critical cultural symposia about modern technology. Additionally, independent record label markets and curated culinary tastings of regional Umbrian food occupy daylight hours.
The event implements a strict single-use plastic ban, operates zero-waste composting and sorting hubs, and sources green renewable energy for main stages. Furthermore, digital-only ticketing and comprehensive carbon offset calculations minimize the overall environmental footprint across all venues.
Venues are outfitted with temporary structural ramps, designated low-stimulus quiet zones, and gender-neutral sanitation facilities to support all attendees comfortably. Trained peer support teams and assistive pass systems further ensure a secure and inclusive environment throughout the weekend.
