À quoi s’attendre en 2027

Model Expo Italy 2027 will return to Veronafiere for its 22nd edition on March 6–7, 2027. The event combines static and dynamic modelling, railway modelling, aircraft, ships, cars, agricultural machinery, bricks and gaming within a large-scale exhibition environment. The organiser describes the fair as a major Italian event dedicated to modelling, coloured bricks and games, with around 64,000 square metres and 10 thematic areas in the wider format.

The 2027 edition will follow the broad multi-theme structure developed by Model Expo Italy, while the detailed event programme and individual gaming activities are expected to be announced closer to the event. The 2026 edition expanded the gaming and pop-culture component through the Verona POP&PLAY Festival, introducing videogames, retrogaming, trading card games, board games, roleplay, cosplay, K-pop and other digital and pop-culture activities.

Visitors can expect a mixture of hands-on activities, model displays, competitions, demonstrations, gaming areas, brick exhibitions, creative workshops, hobby associations and specialist exhibitors. The event is designed for families, hobbyists, collectors, model builders, gamers and visitors interested in technical and creative model-making.

Lieu et site d’exposition

Model Expo Italy 2027 will be held at the Veronafiere Exhibition Centre in Verona, Italy.

The official visitor information identifies two principal access points for the 2027 event:

• Re Teodorico entrance, Via dell’Industria
• San Zeno entrance, Viale del Lavoro

Parking facilities include P7 and P4 near the Re Teodorico entrance and P3 near the San Zeno entrance.

The exhibition centre provides multiple halls and thematic areas for modelling, bricks, gaming, electronics and related activities. Model Expo Italy operates alongside Elettroexpo, the electronics, computer and radio-amateur exhibition held concurrently at Veronafiere.

Full gaming programme

The complete 2027 gaming programme has not yet been published. Model Expo Italy’s gaming content forms part of the broader Play District concept, which covers gaming in different formats alongside the traditional modelling exhibition.

The 2026 edition introduced the Verona POP&PLAY Festival as a new format in the Play District. It combined videogames, retrogaming, trading card games, board games, roleplay, cosplay, manga, anime, K-pop and digital culture.

The 2027 gaming programme is expected to be announced through the official event programme. Potential activity categories based on the established format include:

• Videogames
• Retrogaming
• Board games
• Trading card games
• Roleplay
• Gaming demonstrations
• Creative gaming activities
• Cosplay and pop-culture activities
• Community gaming
• Expériences interactives
• Hobby and collector activities

The organiser has not yet published a confirmed 2027 esports or individual game tournament schedule, so specific competitions should not be treated as confirmed until included in the official programme.

Featured games & developers

Model Expo Italy is not exclusively a videogame industry convention, and the organiser has not announced a definitive 2027 list of featured videogames or game developers.

The gaming component is broader, incorporating videogames alongside traditional games, board games, TCGs, roleplay and retro gaming. The 2026 Verona POP&PLAY format specifically presented videogames and retrogaming as part of a larger pop-culture and gaming environment.

The 2026 exhibitor directory included gaming-related organisations and businesses such as Gamers Arena, Arcadia Playground, Liberty Gameland, Italy Tech, Emulare Che Passione, The Gamer’s Hoard and Angelo Porazzi Games – Area Autoproduzione.

The confirmed 2027 developer, publisher, gaming-company and game list should be checked once the organiser publishes the new exhibitor and event programme.

Esports tournaments & competitions

The organiser has not yet published a confirmed esports tournament programme for Model Expo Italy 2027. Gaming competitions at the event should therefore be distinguished from the numerous modelling competitions and hobby challenges that form a major part of the wider fair.

The gaming programme may include competitive activities connected with videogames, board games, trading card games or other interactive formats, depending on the final 2027 programme.

Model Expo Italy’s broader event format also includes modelling competitions and demonstrations involving aircraft, ships, vehicles, railway models, static models and other specialist categories. The organiser regularly publishes individual competition and activity information as the event approaches.

Visitors interested specifically in esports should consult the official 2027 programme for confirmed game titles, tournament formats, registration requirements and schedules.

Tournament & event schedule

The complete 2027 event schedule has not yet been released. The organiser normally publishes individual event information and programme details closer to the exhibition.

The 2026 programme included activities covering modelling, gaming culture, K-pop, cosplay, workshops and specialist hobby demonstrations. The 2026 Verona POP&PLAY Festival also included a K-pop contest, workshops connected with Japanese and Korean culture, retrogaming and other gaming and pop-culture activities.

Model Expo Italy’s wider activity programme can also include competitions, live demonstrations, interactive workshops, model launches and specialist presentations.

Once published, the official schedule should be used to confirm exact start times, locations, participation requirements and any advance registration needed for individual competitions or activities.

Any special-access programme introduced for 2027 should be confirmed through the official Model Expo Italy website.

Exhibitors & gaming companies

Model Expo Italy brings together specialist hobby businesses, manufacturers, associations, clubs, collectors and gaming-related exhibitors. The 2026 edition’s directory included a substantial Play District presence alongside the modelling halls.

Exhibition halls & gaming zones

Model Expo Italy uses multiple halls and thematic areas across the Veronafiere complex. The organiser describes the fair as covering approximately 64,000 square metres, with 10 thematic areas representing the main modelling sectors and the Play District gaming environment.

The 2026 layout placed the Play District in Hall 9, while Hall 6 hosted a large Brick-related area and other halls accommodated modelling, railway, naval, static and specialist activities.

The 2026 exhibitor directory also identified Hall 9 as the location of the Play District, with dedicated areas for gaming, cosplay, artists, pop culture and interactive entertainment.

The exact 2027 floor plan and hall allocation should be checked after the organiser publishes the updated map.

Game demos & new releases

Gaming demonstrations are part of the wider Play District concept, while the event also provides hands-on experiences across board games, videogames, retro gaming, roleplay and other interactive formats.

The 2026 Verona POP&PLAY Festival introduced a dedicated gaming and pop-culture environment where visitors could explore videogames, retrogaming, TCGs, board games and roleplay.

The exhibition also provides opportunities to discover independent games, hobby products, gaming accessories and community projects. Angelo Porazzi Games, for example, appeared in the 2026 exhibitor directory in the self-production area.

Specific 2027 game launches, developer demonstrations and new-release presentations have not yet been announced.

Règles de l’épreuve

Visitors must follow the official Veronafiere visitor regulations and the specific rules established for Model Expo Italy activities. Admission tickets provide access to the fair according to the conditions published by the organiser.

The organiser permits dogs inside the Veronafiere exhibition complex, subject to specific requirements. Dogs must have identification and be kept on a secure leash no longer than 80 centimetres. Larger dogs and dogs considered potentially dangerous must also wear a suitable muzzle.

Some activities, contests and interactive areas may have their own participation rules, age requirements or registration procedures.
